Set in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, focuses on the three MaGrath sisters — Lenny, the eldest and unmarried, has sacrificed herself to care for their ailing Old Granddaddy; Meg, the wild and carefree sister, returns home from a failed singing career in Hollywood; and Babe, the youngest, a sugar-holic southern belle, just released on bail for attempted murder of her abusive husband. As the sisters come together at Old Granddaddy's home, they are united in their struggle to overcome their past and face life’s new challenges.
