Literacy Building through Art: Workshop for Educators

Enter a painting to “scoop” a story. Artist Margo Selski uses visual images to create paintings that tell a story. The group will explore her painting, The Flight I, to build personal narratives and imagine possible settings, characters and story lines. A studio activity will involve creating a contoured book whose form reflects the nature of the story to be written within.The evening will end with a group reflection on the learning experience. All participants will receive The Flight I Learning Poster for their classroom.
