Children of all ages, adults, families and groups looking for a fun, collaborative and creative experience during the month of August are invited to take part in a two-week residency with world-renowned theatre artists from In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre (HOBT). The theatre, based in Minneapolis, Minn., will offer free workshops for all ages and coordinate two free public performances featuring a hundred or more performers.

Workshops will run from August 9 – 18 and the performances will be held Thursday, August 19 and Friday, August 20. All activities will be held at the Trollwood Arts’ site at 801 50th Ave SW, Moorhead, Minn. Registration is required for morning, afternoon or evening workshops, but drop-in sessions will also be held on Saturday, August 14. To register, view more details, or see a schedule of workshops, visit www.trollwood.org.

The theme for the residency and performance is “Water, Water Everywhere” and will focus on local and global concerns with water. The story will be created through collaborative sharing of ideas, histories and experiences of water in our region. Participants will then create lively masks and large-scale puppets while learning the art of movement and performance for puppet and mask theatre. Music, singing, dancing, and stilt-walking will all be integrated into this lively presentation.
