Since July 17, 2010 will be the 30th anniversary of the removal of the ship from the Hawley warehouse, HCSCC will celebrate by holding Hawley Days at the Hjemkomst Center on July 17 and 18. Hawley-area residents holding a coupon to be printed in the Hawley Herald in July will be admitted to the Viking Village Festival 2-for-the-price-of-1.

An open house will be held at the Hawley Senior Center for sharing memories 9am-2pm on Sat. July 17 and 11-2pm on Sunday, July 18. Crew members Deb (Asp) Seitz and Mark Hilde will be present to meet with people, and filmmakers Tony Tilton and Eli Akira Kaufman will be present to video-record stories and to talk with people who remember the building and sailing of the ship. People are encouraged to bring their photos, film footage, and memorabilia to help share their stories. The Senior Center will be selling pie and coffee.
