Holiday Open House

The Historical & Cultural Society of Clay County invites the public to their Holiday Open House on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, from 1 – 3 p.m. at the Hjemkomst Center. Treats and beverages will be served. The event is free and open to the public.

A free guided tour of The Saint John’s Bible exhibit given by local calligrapher Anne Kaese is at 1:30 p.m. The Saint John’s Bible consists of the brilliant illuminations done at St. John’s Abbey near St. Cloud, Minn. This exhibit is on display through Dec. 27. In addition, a book talk about Swedish immigrant artist Birger Sandzen by Dr. Jim Kaplan is at 3 p.m. Dr. Kaplan’s book, “Birger Sandzen on Art, Music and Transcendence,” will be available at the event.
