Music For The Heart - Free Lunchtime Concert Series
February 10, 2011
Add Review/Comment
The Fargo-Moorhead Symphony and Sanford Health have joined to present a series of lunchtime concerts in the Sanford Medical Center Atrium twice a month. The performers are soloists and small chamber ensembles from within the orchestra, including a solo performance by Concertmaster Benjamin Sung on violin, string quartets, a woodwind quintet, brass choir, and violin-harp duo.
These informal concerts are open to the public as well as Sanford staff, patients and visitors. Music - especially live performances in an intimate setting - can lift spirits, calm anxiety, and rejuvenate the soul. The title of this series, "Music for the Heart," not only reflects the personal impact of music to the listener, but also evokes the healing that is taking place inside the adjacent Sanford Heart Center.
