Keeping Warm: Winter Wear and Pastimes. The exhibit was assembled by HCSCC Collections Manager, Lisa Vedaa, and is located in the level 3 hall cases at the Hjemkomst Center museum.
The exhibit showcases artifacts from the HCSCC collection that deal with keeping warm and having fun in the winter, such as a buffalo fur coat, a children’s sleigh from 1901, and a snowsuit worn in the late 1920s. In addition, photos are included that range from skiers speeding down a slope along the Buffalo River in Moland Township in 1930 to a 66 foot tall jump on a high bank on the Red River built by the Dovre Ski Club in the early 1920s.
