At the Hjemkomst Center, the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County (HCSCC), Stabo, Lena’s Lefse, and Stop-N-Go will celebrate Syttende Mai, Norway’s Constitution Day, by holding a “pølsefest” – a party offering hot dogs-served-in-lefse-or-buns lunch, while supplies last.

According to a Website, “Syttende Mai (or the 17th of May) marks Norway’s declaration of independence and is a celebration of the 1814 signing of Norway’s constitution and independence from Sweden. This day is also called Constitution Day and National Day and is a great spring festival in Norway.”

In keeping with this holiday’s emphasis on children, the HCSCC encourages parents to bring their children along to celebrate.
