Moorhead's Robert Asp students are creating the world's largest human mosaic of a viking ship on Tuesday May 31, 2011.
Bert Chamberlain championed a grant from Education Minnesota to use GPS systems across the curricula. Working with Kathy Larson-Carlson, they devised a plan which Mrs. Larson-Carlson coined as the Stamp project. Stamp refers to the combination of science, technology, arts, math, and physical education. The project was a year long process which cumulated into the human mosaic Hjemkomst ship.
The ship is going to be made out of all of the students, faculty and staff at Robert Asp Elementary School on May 31, 2011. If you wish to participate please be at the school by 1:00 pm wearing either White or Blue for clouds or sky.
The original Hjemkomst ship was built by Robert Asp, who taught at the school.
