    The Jass Festival expands into a full festival format in their 17th year featuring two days of performances and clinics.
    Saturday, August 13th will feature clinic sessions in the afternoon from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Armed Forces Reserve Center in Fargo and a concert by The Christopher Hanson Jazz Quartet at 8 p.m. taking place at the Ecce Art Studio in downtown Fargo.
    Sunday, August 14th will feature a festival of five mini-concerts spread out through the entire afternoon. In addition to the Jass Festival ensembles – three groups of young high school and college musicians and music educators from the Red River Valley, two jazz ensembles from the North Dakota National Guard’s 188th Army Band will perform.

    The Sunday festival of jazz will take place at the Imagine Amphitheatre - Bluestem Center for the Arts in Moorhead. The 188th Army Band Stage Band will open the festival at 2 p.m. The Jass Festival Vocal Jazz Group will follow at 2:35 p.m. The second National Guard ensemble, the 188th Army Band Jazz Band will take the stage at 3:10 p.m. The Jass Festival Jazz Combo performs next at 3:45 p.m. The final group, The Jass Festival Big Band, will perform at 4:25 p.m.
    Throughout the Sunday concerts, kid’s activities and concessions will be available. All concerts and clinics on both Saturday and Sunday are free and open to the all ages.

        The festival staff asks that attendees of the Sunday festival concerts bring a cleaning supply (soaps, sanitizers, cleaners, mops, rags, etc.) to be donated to citizens in need of such items who were affected by floods in Minot, Bismarck, Mandan and other surrounding towns.
