Join the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County for a night filled with 1940s tunes, great food, and fun times at their annual fall fundraiser: “Celebrating the Greatest Generation”. This year’s event is on Friday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. at the Hjemkomst Center museum.

The HCSCC will be honoring Dr.Roland Dille, emeritus president of Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM), with the 2011 Clay County Heritage Award, created to celebrate the accomplishments of those who make a meaningful contribution to the history and culture of Clay County and the region.

The event is sponsored by Eventide, Forum Communications, MAC’s Inc., and Agassiz Valley Grain, LLC of Barnesville, Minn.

A special thank you to the food donors: Atomic Coffee (coffee), Bennigan’s (cole slaw), Breadsmith (rolls), CJ’s Kitchen (kneofla soup), Eagle Café (mashed potatoes), Famous Dave’s (BBQ pork), Garden Pavilion/One on One, Catering (chocolate zucchini cake), Green Market (appetizers), John Alexander’s (meatloaf), Maxwell’s (appetizers), Moorhead Country Club (vegetables), Olive Garden (salad), Oven Door Catering (lemon cake), and Stop & Go (buns).
