Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County

Celebrate our community's traditions and cultures with this local multi-ethnic showcase of music, dance, culinary arts and children's activities. The centerpoint of the Center is the Viking ship, highlighting the area's Scandinavian culture. Events also take place throughout the year focusing on the cultures of Latin America, Africa and a multitude of others.

    “EXPLORING NOW: 365 Days to 50” and “The sheARTS Project: Art Hats for Breast Cancer Awareness” Hjemkomst Center “EXPLORING NOW: 365 Days to 50” and “The sheARTS Project: Art Hats for Breast Cancer Awareness” Presented by Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County at Hjemkomst Center February 4-March 26, 2012 Two exhibits, “EXPLORING NOW: 365 Days to 50” and “The sheARTS Project: Art Hats for Breast Cancer Awareness”, showcase how art heals the soul in times of life’s challenges. Both projects were created by local artist and designer, Claudia M. Pratt, who has faced breast cancer head on over the last five years.

      I take my grandchildren to Pangea every year. It is a wonderful and exciting celebration. The costumes, music, food and displays are rich in the cultures of our valley. It is a day for exploring,learning and enjoying. Every year is different and new. Come and explore this gem offered by the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County. You will be so glad you did!
