Fargo-Moorhead Area Youth Symphonies

The Fargo Moorhead Area Youth Symphonies (FMAYS) provides the young musicians of the Red River Valley and the surrounding region with the experience of rehearsing and performing with a symphony orchestra. Although most members of FMAYS are members of their local school orchestra or bands, some students do not have access to such groups (especially in the rural area of North Dakota and Minnesota). For these students, FMAYS is particularly rewarding.

The Fargo Moorhead Area Youth Symphonies has been serving the orchestral growth of youth since the late 1960's. FMAYS continues to serve the needs of youth from grades 5th through 12th who have a desire to expand their orchestral experience beyond the school systems they are involved with. FMAYS currently has about 175 youth participating in its programming.

    08/31/10	Auditions for FM Area Youth Symphonies Fargo North High School Auditions for FM Area Youth Symphonies Presented by Fargo-Moorhead Area Youth Symphonies at Fargo North High School August 31, 2010 Auditions for the senior high school students (grades 9-12) will be held at the Fargo North High School for the FM Area Youth Symphonies. String/Wind/Percussion/Brass Students in grades 7-12 are eligible to audition (Junior high school students (grades 6-8) auditions will be held 9/9/10 at MSUM Center for the Arts).  Rehearsals for FMAYS start on Sunday September 12, 2010.     04/19/09	The Spring Concert NDSU Festival Concert Hall The Spring Concert Presented by Fargo-Moorhead Area Youth Symphonies at NDSU Festival Concert Hall April 19, 2009 The Senior High Symphony Orchestra and Junior High Concert Strings of the FM Area Youth Symphonies combine in the finale of the season. Featured guest artist will be the winner of the Concerto Competition.
