Marbakka Studios

Robert Kurkowski was born in Bismarck, North Dakota, and raised largely in Fargo. After serving in the U. S. Navy, he received his degree in Studio Art from the University of Minnesota, Morris and then returned to the Fargo area. He worked for the Fargo Public Schools, helping to found the award winning Creative Arts Studio. He retired from his position as the Director of the Creative Arts Studio in the spring of 2003 and since then has concentrated his efforts in his own studio, Marbakka Studios, near Christine, North Dakota, where he creates raku and stoneware ceramics and sculpture.
