Fargo-Moorhead Camera Club

The Fargo-Moorhead Camera Club was organized in October of 1938 and has been in continuous operation since that date.

The principal goal of the club is to help its members to improve their photographic skills through educational activities and by means of competition. The competition serves to challenge us to try various subjects and techniques. There are separate classes of competition so that beginners and less experienced members do not have to compete with more experienced photographers. New members are helped and encouraged by others and there is an atmosphere of fun and fellowship. Visitors and guests are always welcome.

Meetings are held twice monthly beginning in September and continuing through May. The first meeting of each month consists of a contest or salon held on the first Thursday. Members submit entries according to the club rules published on this website and in the club booklet. The entries are judged prior to the meeting and the judge critiques the photographs and gives educational comments as the entries are shown at the meeting. The second meeting of each month is held on the third Thursday and consists of an instructional program, hands-on shooting session, or a presentation.
