Kelsey Johnson
Director - Visual Artist
About the artist:
Kelsey is a native North Dakotan who has been actively involved in theatre since she was an eighth grader. Once she graduated high school, she uprooted herself and moved to Pullman, Washington, to pursue a bachelors degree in Theatre Arts and Drama. The directing bug bit Kelsey while in college, and she hasn't been able to look back since. Kelsey graduated from WSU in July 2007 and moved to Minneapolis, MN. While in the Twin Cities, she was able to stage manage and light design for multiple companies including 20% Theatre Company, Lyric Arts Main Street Stage, and Buffalo Community Theatre. After a year in Minneapolis, Kelsey uprooted again to move to Fargo to attend NDSU for an English Education degree. Since being in Fargo, she has assistant directed and staged managed Tin Roof Theatre's "The Nerd" and is currently producing, directing, and acting in V-Day NDSU's production of "The Vagina Monologues." This young director has directed "Guys and Dolls," "Haiku," "Signing Beaunus," and "Rabbit Hole" among other plays. While in Fargo, she hopes to continue working for area theatre companies.
