One of the most popular and successful musicals in recent memory, this deliciously goofy revue centers on four young, eager male singers killed in a car crash in the 1950s on the way to their first big concert, and now miraculously revived for the posthumous chance to fulfill their dreams and perform the show that never was. When most of us think of the 1950s, we think of rock 'n' roll, greasers, hot rods, Elvis, Annette, Fabian, D.A., haircuts and teenage rebellion. But there was a flip side to this era -- the side of harmony, innocence and the sincerity of dreams. It is the side that's been lost in the shuffle of progress. It was a time when most parents and kids listened and danced to the same music; when families partook of the ritual of gathering in front of the TV to watch their favorite variety shows, like the Ed Sullivan Show or the Perry Como Show. It was a time when every family worked to fulfill the American Dream. Collapse

Just wanted to say, amazing work! The fact that everything was student driven was impressive in itself. The little, somewhat subtle, elements truly engulfed the audience. One, in-particular, was the radio playing at the beginning, totally set the mood and essence of the play to come. Overall great performance guys. Full of suspense coupled with the the eerie possibility of such an incident actually happening. Collapse

Specific about compliments and general about dislikes? Somebody needs a little lesson in constructive criticism. Did you tell your college professors the same thing?...unbelievable. I hope you know how proud North Dakotans are of their state. Why, on earth, did you not include the location of where these photos were taken? My mother just gave me the book as a Christmas gift and there is a photo of a church. She thinks that it is the church where my great-great grandparents were buried. When she asked one of you if this was the church near Jesse, you couldn't recall. Any good photographer should research their subject to the utmost, especially when they are turning a profit from it. I love the photos, but am very disappointed in the info, or lack of. I hope you learn and stop guessing about where your photos are taken...could some be in Duluth area or Montana by mistake and can you be sure? Collapse

West Fargo Theatre's production of CATS on opening night left me amazed and awestruck. The amount of talent and dedication of these teens shone through to put on an entertaining and top-notch production. Director Adam Pankow made these kids dig deeper than ever before. The singing, orchestra and choreography were excellent. (if you're not familiar with this musical, there is no speaking, all singing and constant movement and choreography) I have seen many shows at WFHS for years and have volunteered for them the last three and I must admit this is far above the quality of other high school productions I've seen here or anywhere else. These kids also took on the huge challenge of raising $25,000 in four months for a new sound system and they did it. The new sound system is much better than the old, but just needs a few tweaks. Theatre is alive and well in West Fargo. Go and see this show and support the arts. Collapse

I remember listening to St Paul Sunday Morning back in the early 90's and hearing "Little Tricker the Squirrel ..." narrated by Ken Kesey. This is a fantastic story and very entertaining for children. I have looked several times since then for a recording of it without success. Art Maddox's score for this story is timely and exciting and moves the imagination along in anticipation of Big Double's next conquest and Tricker's next antic. If I lived anywhere close to Fargo I would definitely go to hear this performance.
