I enjoyed the performance, however the change from a traditional setting to one in the 1920's really made the story seem weird and off. The only other thing I disliked was the lack of creative costume design. All of the women's costumes were unflattering, hideously mis-matched ensembles that distracted from their performances. The constant confusion in the story line, and the horrible costumes made the production seem less professional. The music was wonderful, and well worth hearing though. Collapse

The pre-show characters "working" the crowd were a delight and helped distract young audience members waiting for the show to begin. Costumes and set were creative visuals. Hansel and Gretel were amazing young actors and carried the show. The show runs a little over 2 hours with intermission--which was too long for my 4 and 7 year olds! Collapse

This event was a great way to spend an active afternoon with our two young children (ages 7 and 4). Activities were varied, all were fun. There were rides, art projects, food projects, bean bag toss games and more. Purchase the wristband--it's the best bargain if you plan to partake of more than 1 or 2 activities. Go early--they ran out of supplies and some of the activities shut down towards the end of the afternoon but before closing time. We go every year! Collapse

I heard the New York Kammermusiker when they played in the Avalon. They are a very accomplished group, numerous recordings on major labels and the repertoire was good, too -- some renaissance material up to recent pieces. It was very enjoyable even by people who are not core classical fans. I think the reason we have them coming back is that they are directed by someone from North Dakota, so take advantage of it Collapse

I was looking for a contact for setting up booths. It would be good to have information on who to contact, and the times open in the morning as well as when it closes.
